Salame di Noci al Cioccolato, or Chocolate Walnut Salami, is a delightful no-bake dessert that combines rich chocolate, crunchy walnuts, and crumbled cookies into a log-shaped treat.

Our Recipe

Ingredients

• 200g shelled walnuts
• 200g dark chocolate
• 150g digestive biscuits
• 100g butter
• 80g powdered sugar
• 30g unsweetened cocoa powder
• 3-4 tablespoons milk
• 1 tablespoon rum (optional)

Instructions

1. Roughly chop the walnuts and biscuits, leaving some larger pieces for texture. Set them aside.
2. Melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie or microwave, stirring occasionally until smooth.
3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter with the powdered sugar until smooth. Add the sifted cocoa powder and mix well. Gradually add the milk (one tablespoon at a time) and, if desired, the rum for extra flavor.
4. Stir the melted chocolate into the butter mixture until fully combined. Add the chopped walnuts and biscuits, and mix gently with a spatula until evenly distributed.
5. Transfer the mixture onto a sheet of baking paper. Shape it into a cylindrical “salami” with your hands. Wrap it tightly in the baking paper and then in aluminum foil, sealing the ends securely.
6. Place the walnut chocolate salami in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours (or in the freezer for 2 hours) until firm.

Before serving, dust with powdered sugar and slice into pieces.

Tips
• You can substitute walnuts with a mix of nuts like almonds, hazelnuts, or pistachios for a richer flavor.
• Store the salami in the fridge for 4-5 days or freeze it for longer storage.
